About the Program

The Fibers of our Being, or, One Hundred Days in a Dress. Our globally interconnected existence shows up in the most intimate and surprising places, like the very clothing we put on our bodies. Let’s explore Interdependence and Inter-being with a deep dive into the international garment industry. How can we live our values through our fashion choices, and why does it matter?

About the Speaker
Rev. Kristina Church grew up all over the country as an Air Force kid, spending most of her childhood and young adulthood in Anchorage, Alaska, which she still considers her hometown. After earning a Master’s of Science in Social Work at Columbia University, she pursued a career in social work before becoming a mother later in life. Rev. Kristina holds a Masters of Divinity degree from Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago, Illinois, and serves as the ¾-time Settled Minister of the UU Congregation of Erie, Pennsylvania. She lives in Erie with her husband, Greg, their 13-year-old son, Rafael, and their labradoodle, Onyx! Her passions in ministry include climate and racial justice, religious education, and pastoral care. Personal interests include outdoor activities, music, theatre, and yoga!
